I’ve been thinking about writing a mini series for a while now and I’ve finally gotten around to getting it started. The next post will be Episode 1. It will be Sci-Fi based Action, dealing mostly with humanity’s place in the universe and warring alien races, etc. I have a decent handle on what aspects of this story type are overdone so hopefully I’ll be able to come up with something fresh.
This is very, very far from the norm for me as far as writing goes, but that is the motivational factor right now. I just want to take a break and dabble in something different (once in a while anyway).
The general idea is that (a) it will be periodically updated in episodes, (b) it will be written with the perspective being from more of a television series than a novel or short story, and (c) will basically be a fly by the seat of my pants type endeavour.
I have a preconceived notion of how I want the story to flow and Wikipedia… but that’s about it. So we’ll see how this experiment turns out. In the meantime I will start working on another short story before diving in to finish one of the other novel-length works.
